Ezio about his artworks:

“Molecules” are a collection of small drawings, focusing on fragments of life, and are imbued with a dreamlike quality. Resembling black etchings of antique Japanese painting, Ferrari’s drawings can appear like ideograms.

They can be stylised feminine figures, ballerinas who dance, pensive poses, amongst other subjects, on a seemingly infinite stage in colours of black and white, which enhance the subjects’ immateriality and mystery.

The work of Italian artist Ezio Ferrari is characterised by what can be seen as a form of story telling. Reducing subject matter to its most basic constituent, the molecule, Ferrari’s work focuses on the hidden life of things material.

His work also brings to life the unspoken, unnoticed actions or simple movements that seemingly leave no trace. A smile in spring, a memory of summer, and an autumnal sigh are all gestures, with minute “molecular” effects.
