I have always believed that all forms of art are a major component of the mind, and in this context I maintain that art is ‘mental hygiene’. In other words, artistic work can generate emotions that are beneficial to the brain.
In most cases, paintings show an external image of the subject but in my works I start from the inside to reach an emotional exteriority. The essential aim is to give mystery to the unquestionable and poetry to the reality.
It is always unhelpful to limit thought and line to pre-defined regulations. Spontaneity, fruit of the nearby or distant past, draws powerful emotions.
When the words are not enough, art begins.”
