Tom was born and lives in London. He studied graphic design and illustration at Camberwell College of Arts, where he experimented with a variety of media, always returning to drawing as his preferred choice. Tom is really keen on self published books and fanzines, and has produced several of his own, as well as writing and illustrating articles for other people's projects. He also enjoys the freedom and expressive possibilities of mural painting, and has created many large scale pieces, including both commissions and personal work.
He likes to spend time drawing in sketchbooks in cafés, squares and other public spaces, as well as taking long walks to generate and develop ideas. He has a passion for rummaging through secondhand bookshops to find unusual influences and inspirations, despite worrying that books are taking over his room. His favourite areas of art include Japanese woodblock prints, Manga and Anime, Chinese brush painting and early poster and packaging designs.
Tom's main aims for the future are to learn more about creating comic strip style narratives and to study animation techniques, and see where these will lead his work.
